Summer Kid Activities - Sand Dough, Puffy Paint & Chalk Spray
Hi y'all! I am busy planning my two oldest kids' birthday party. So far, 30 kids have RSVP'd! It's going to be a BIG party!
Since I have "summer kids birthday parties" on my mind this week, I've been looking for fun kid ideas. Here are a couple I've found that I'm not using for their party, but will definitely be doing with my kids!
I love this idea of sand dough found on Hope Studios (originally published by Family Fun Magazine.) She made a mixture made mostly of sand that can be sculpted and will turn hard.Sand castles and other creations can be made into kids' works of art to display using this sand dough recipe!
Kids love sidewalk chalk. Moms like me don't love how it gets all over their clothes, hands and face! This chalk spray from Infarrantly Creative sounds like a great compromise! I think my kids might actually like chalk spray more since it comes from a spray bottle!!! They love to squirt things.Wednesday, May 18, 2011
Party Highlights!
This gardening idea from The Dragon's Fairytail is an awesome one! She planted lettuce in a rain gutter. I think this would work for herbs too! It is even attached to her house so it looks like a flower planter. So cool!
I wish there was a lot of driftwood nearby me because I would make a driftwood planter! Learn how to make this at Craftberry Bush!
How cute are these decorative spools made from branches? Totally cute! See these at Homework: Be Inspired.
This idea for sidewalk paint is going in my summer "TO DO" file box! My kids will love this stuff and paint the whole sidewalk! Thanks Stampin' and Craftin'.
If you are LDS, you know the scripture mastery verses. Scripture Mastery are very important verses to which Christians should have quick reference. Download the stickers for each set of scripture (Old Testament, New Testament, BOM and D&C) at Ten Cow Chick!See more links from the Whatever Goes Wednesday party.

Magic Jellybean Turn Into Lollipop Easter/Spring Activity
Last Easter, we did this activity for our kids! They LOVED it! Looks like it will be a tradition for us. I hope it becomes a tradition for you too!
Just like Nothing But Country, we planted some "magic jelly beans" the night before Easter. We didn't have this cute FREE downloadable jellybean packet from Nothing But Country. I'm adding it to our new tradition.
The next morning, the kids walked out to the dirt where we planted the jellybeans and there stood some giant lollipops. I bought the lollipops at Walgreens for $1 (I think.) The kids were amazed.Download the FREE "Magic Jellybean" packets for this fun Easter or Spring activity.

Decoupaged Nature Eggs and Using Natural Dyes
Twig and Toadstool decoupaged plants and flowers to her eggs along with natural dyes! Aren't they beautiful! What a great way to use nature in this Spring holiday!
This year, we are trying some natural dyes just for fun. The other day we colored eggs with dye made from yellow onion skins! Twig and Toadstool has some other ideas for natural ways to dye your eggs (Vegetables)! I think my kids and I will try some of her suggestions too. Tuesday, April 5, 2011
Rice Krispy Easter Edibles!
I love ideas like this table full of rice krispy edibles that pass for themed decor and treats. The topiary, easter basket, chicks, flowers and decorative balls in the apothecary jar are all edible. (Click on the image above to see them in greater detail.)How fun would that be for a party or to do with your kids?!?! You can read more about this display and get the recipe over at Cute As A Fox.
